About BIPMed
Brazilian Initiative on Precision Medicine.
BIPMed, the Brazilian Initiative on Precision Medicine, is an initiative connected to five Research, Innovation and Dissemination Centers supported by FAPESP.
Research Centers
Brazilian Research Institute for Neuroscience and Neurotechnology (BRAINN) Dr. Fernando Cendes
Center for Computational Science and Engineering (CCES) Dr. Munir Skaf
Center for Research in Cell Therapy (CTC) Dr. Marco Antonio Zago
Center for Research on Inflammatory Diseases (CRID) Dr. Fernando Queiroz Cunha
Obesity and Comorbidities Research Center (OCRC) Dr. Licio Augusto VellosoThe project focuses on precision medicine, translational research, genomic medicine, personalized medicine, and the responsible sharing of genomic and clinical data. BIPMed is built around a software platform aligned with Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH) guidelines, intended to provide public access to genomic and phenotypic data for clinicians and scientists.
BIPMed is the Brazilian Country Node of the Human Variome Project. Its database design follows Human Genome Variation Society (HGVS) recommendations and GA4GH principles for the responsible sharing of genomic and clinical information.
